Cheryl Beckett serves as the Creative Director at Minor Design Group. She has completed projects for Hermann Park Conservancy, Houston; The Society for the Performing Arts, Houston; American Reprographics Corporation, San Francisco; Cite Magazine, Houston; and The Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston. Her work has appeared in Philip Meggs' Type and Image: The Language of Graphic Design and in Rob Carter's Working With Computer type and Working With Computer Type 2. Among Beckett's honors and awards are those given through the American Institute of Graphic Arts, New York; The American Center for Design, Chicago; HOW; Print; and the Type Director's Club of New York. Her work has been selected for the Library of Congress' "Posters of Popular and Applied Art" Permanent Collection as well as "Design Excellence: 50 Posters of the 80's," curated by Gordon Salchow. Ms. Beckett has served on the Texas Chapter of the AIGA and is a past board member of AIGA Houston. Beckett also serves as the department chair of the Graphic Design Program at the University of Houston, where she has been an associate professor since 1986.
