The Houston Parks and Recreation Department manages a budget of approximately $52.2 million to oversee 311 developed parks and more than 200 open spaces totaling over 20,000 acres. The department owns and operates 57 community centers across the city, eight golf courses, 43 municipal swimming pools, three tennis centers and maintains 80 miles of nature and hike and bike trails. Minor Design undertook the creation of a new identity program. The newly established identity is featured on all park collateral from print to web. The new signage system will be phased in over the coming years.
